Managing Director, Uniglobe Travel International, Asia/Pacific
David Hughes has extensive experience in the travel and tourism industry across airlines, corporate and retail travel, tour/wholesale operations and travel technology.
David has held senior leadership roles including as the Managing Director of QBT and GM of Corporate Travel at Helloworld, Managing Director Australia of Travel Counsellors and senior executive leadership positions with Qantas Airways across Marketing, Customer Strategy, Regional Airlines (QantasLink), and Qantas Holidays.
Hughes is currently the Asia/Pacific Managing Director of Uniglobe Travel International, a global alliance of Corporate Travel Management Companies.
Beyond his responsibilities with Uniglobe, David is also a Director of Entourage Travel Group, a host agency supporting independent contractors and affiliate travel agency partners
He also works with start- ups showcasing his passion for digital innovation and supporting and nurturing emerging businesses. David has actively contributed to the success of start-ups including Travello –messaging for independent travellers, Blackbook – a lifestyle superapp, Troop – meetings planning, and Pelikin – simplified currency management for travellers.
David has also been a director on the Asia/Pacific board of the Global Business Travel Association (GBTA) and Chair of the International Customer Service Professionals. He also served as the Chair of Force for Good Advocates, a group of senior industry executives working to increase diversity and opportunity, particularly for women at senior levels in the Australian and New Zealand travel industry.
